Thankfully, Cases of COVID-19 are falling, but we aren’t out of the woods yet. The new CDC guidance regarding masks is great news, but it is just a general, national guideline. Here in Pennsylvania we still have to follow restrictions until the end of the month, and our campaign intends to do so.
I commend Mayor Herrin’s swift action last year, and I strongly believe that West Chester closing down as early as it did is a major reason why our numbers are low locally. We must remain vigilant. To that end, I do not believe that it is safe or necessary to have public gatherings or to go door-to-door talking to people for a mayoral campaign. So, my team and I have decided to forgo traditional campaign events and door-to-door canvassing to try a new, safer approach that will reduce the chance that my campaign is responsible for further spreading COVID-19.
The health of my neighbors is my number one priority
I hope the COVID-19 pandemic ends as soon as possible, but we have no way of knowing how long things will take to get back on track. I promise to follow the CDC Guidelines and consult Chester County Health Department Officials to make sure we do everything we can to keep our neighbors safe.
